On Monday October 5th, police responded to a robbery just before noon in the 5200 block of S. 50th Street. An 81 year old woman told police that a man had knocked on her door. The man stated he was with an organization and was asking for two dollars as a donation. The woman gave the man the two dollars and the man walked away.
The woman’s husband, an 88 year old man was just getting home. As he walked to his door, the man who had asked for donations showed him a blade and demanded the man’s wallet. The elderly man stated he was a CCW permit holder and the suspect then left on foot with another man who had been waiting on the sidewalk.
Officers searched the area and are requesting video from neighbors in the area. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
