Home Invasion Involving Ex-Husband, Resisted Arrest

By News Sep 18, 2020 | 11:02 AM

On September 17th, police were called to a home near 12th and Fletcher Avenue when a woman called and said her ex-husband was at her home and he refused to leave.

The woman used her security camera to see who was ringing her doorbell and saw it was 47 year old Roger Mace.  The woman used the intercom to tell him to leave.  She then heard something in the kitchen and saw he had gotten into the home.  The woman fled to the garage to leave in her vehicle and called police.  While driving away, Mace followed her, throwing jars of food at her and her vehicle.  Witnesses confirmed her story.

Police spotted Mace near NW4th and Burt Street.  As he saw the officers, he started running away.  Police tried to talk to him but Mace continued to walk away.  Every time officers approached Mace, he would run away.  In the 5600 block of 1st Street, police tried to take Mace into custody but he resisted arrest.  After a struggle, Mace was booked for domestic assault, trespassing, failure to comply with a lawful order and for resisting arrest.
