An arson investigation is underway after Molotov cocktails were thrown at a house near 32nd and Potter on August 20th. Police were called to the home at 9 a.m. but the apparent incident happened around 2:30 a.m.
A 33 year old man told police that someone threw three fire bombs at his house and his neighbor’s house. A 15 year old son of the neighbor was sitting in the living room of his home when he heard a lout bang and looked outside to see fire on the front porch. The fire was quickly put out by the homeowners but there it damaged the porch and a baby bouncer. There were also a few burn marks on the grass from where the bottle landed in the 33 year old male’s yard. Damage is estimated at $75.
Officers searched the area for evidence and are requesting video from neighbors. This appears to be a targeted incident to only one person and the investigation is ongoing. Fire inspectors were called to investigate as well. Those with information are asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
