A registered sex offender is again behind bars facing burglary charges.
32 yea told Adris Khalaf was arrested on July 6, 2019, for 1st-degree sexual assault of a female. He was later charged with 3rd-degree sexual assault and found guilty. He was released with time served on January 13, 2020.
On July 14th, 2020, Lincoln Police were called to the 200 block of North 44th Street at 6:50 a.m. on a report of someone trespassing. A woman told officers a man, later identified as Khalaf, had entered her apartment without her knowledge and was standing at the foot of her bed while she slept. When she woke up, he made sexual comments and rubbed her shoulders. He left after the woman told him several times to go.
At 5:50 p.m., officers were called to an apartment complex in the 300 block of South 90th Street that a man trespassing was found inside the trash room. Khalaf was not able to provide an explanation for why he was inside a complex where he did not live. Khalaf was booked for criminal trespass.
On July 15th at 6:68 a.m., officers were called to the 1600 block of Sawyer Street after a woman called saying she woke up to a man, later identified as Khalaf, turning on her bedroom light. She told him to leave. Khalaf first had to put on his shoes he had taken off by the door and left. The woman was not able to locate a spare key she keeps in case she locks herself out of her house.
Police found Khalaf a short distance away. The victim was able to identify him as the intruder. Khalaf was booked on two counts of burglary.
