LPD: Daughter Assaults Mother, Gives Her “Significant Facial Injuries”

By News May 27, 2020 | 10:34 AM

A woman is arrested after attacking her mother.

Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker said police were called to a residence in the 1900 block of J street around 3 pm Tuesday on reports of an assault.

“Neighbors reported hearing yelling and screaming and what sounded like a physical altercation,” said Spilker.

On arrival, officers contacted a 61-year-old victim with “significant facial injuries” who told them that her daughter, 40-year-old Jeanett Ruel, showed up at her home, struck her several times in the head and face, and took her phone and keys.

Officers located Ruel a short while later in a vehicle near the intersection of 25th and D streets.

“Officers located the stolen property along with a clump of what appeared to be the victim’s hair in her pocket,” said Spilker.

Ruel was arrested for robbery.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
