Alleged Stalker Arrested After Biting Officer

By News Apr 27, 2020 | 9:47 AM

An officer responding to a disturbance is bitten by the suspect.

Officer Erin Spilker says police were sent to a residence in the 1600 block of D Street around 8 PM Sunday after a woman reported being stalked by a man who lived in the neighborhood.

When they arrived they made contact with 25-year-old Lonzo Ewings Jr., who was uncooperative and tried to walk away from officers.

Ewings was able to make it up a flight of steps to a small landing when the officer grabbed at him and both were pulled to the floor.

After a struggle, the officer was able to cuff Ewings, but in the process Ewings bit the officer in the inner bicep, cutting through several layers of skin.

The officer also suffered multiple cuts to his hands, arms, legs, and head.

Ewings was arrested for 3rd-degree assault on a police officer, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and failure to comply with an order of police.
