State Teams With Private Companies In Effort To Increase Testing Capacity

By News Apr 21, 2020 | 4:48 PM

A new public-private partnership seeks to increase testing capacity in Nebraska by around 3,000 tests per day.

Governor Pete Ricketts announced the TestNebraska initiative Tuesday.

Ricketts says the state will work with various companies to complete the initiative.

To see if you qualify for a test, you need to fill out an assessment on Testnebraska.com.

All Nebraskans are encouraged to take the assessment.

Ricketts says as he looks at different ways to loosen restrictions in the state,  increased testing will become more important.

He says with increased testing, his statewide health restrictions can be narrowed onto problem areas, instead of the entire state.

As of now, the state only conducts around 600-800 tests per day.
